Rojo Comments on Injury Following Operation
Wednesday, Dec. 9
"My operation was a success. Thank you to my beautiful wife, always with me. Thank you everyone for your messages of love and support," Rojo posted on Instagram.
United Left Short Without Rojo
Rojo's absence has left United struggling for cover at left-back, with Luke Shaw still unavailable because of a long-term leg injury.
Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind can all act as alternates on the left of defence, but it is not a natural position for any of them.
With Phil Jones also currently sidelined because of injury, Van Gaal is now struggling for options across the back line and has been forced to dip into his youth team.
Rojo has failed to claim a consistent starting spot at United since his arrival, but he is a useful player to have in the squad as he can provide cover at both left-back and centre-back.
