Barcelona Transfer News: Latest on Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez Rumours
Barcelona’s attacking trident of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar looks set to remain intact for a long while yet, despite recent rumours suggesting the former and latter could be on the move.
Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague raised concerns last month when revealing Barcelona don’t have enough money to tie down Messi and Neymar to new deals at the moment. However, according to Toni Frieros of Sport, there’s little to worry about for Blaugrana fans.
Frieros writes Barcelona are looking to renew Messi’s terms and are seeking a guarantee from the Argentina star that he will retire at the Camp Nou. However it’s also suggested securing a new deal for Neymar, who has reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, is the first order of business.

As for Suarez, Frieros claims the situation is “much calmer,” with no team seeking to pay the 28-year-old’s buyout clause of €200 million (£141 million). At the moment, Messi’s trigger amount is €250 million (£177 million), while Neymar’s is €190 million (£134 million).

If Barcelona can keep this trio intact for years to come, then it’s difficult to see which side in Spain—or in Europe—will be able to halt them.
There’s a chemistry between Messi, Neymar and Suarez which regularly manifests in spectacular pieces of play, with each player helping themselves to remarkable goalscoring feats in 2015.
As we can see here courtesy of BreatheSport, the numbers which are being totted up by the trio make for sensational reading:
"In 2015: Messi: 44 goals, 21 assists Suarez: 40 goals, 22 assists Neymar: 41 goals, 12 assists Ridiculous. pic.twitter.com/WqAHEqmyPi

The three seem to be great friends too. That’s evident by the manner in which they take clear joy from setting goals up for the others and the collective celebrations whenever they do find the net.
Indeed, according to Tomas Andreu of Sport, Neymar wants to move house to be closer to his “two great friends,” Messi and Suarez.

Andreu writes the Brazilian is currently renting a property, but he is looking at buying somewhere in the Gava Mar area of Catalonia, which is where his two attacking partners reside.
In the article, it’s suggested Neymar is “determined” to buy somewhere, thus “confirming that his intention and desire is to set permanent residence in Barcelona.”
Of the three, Neymar, although the prospect is quixotic, is the most likely to leave the club, with Frieros claiming he’s the “most coveted” of the attacking jewels.
As Spanish football expert Sergi Dominguez noted last month, the Brazilian has really taken his game on to new heights this season:
So with a comparatively meagre release clause, perhaps it’s little surprise Barcelona will seek to get Neymar secured quickly, and according to Andreu, the Brazilian’s father has started negotiations over extending his deal. With a new contract confirmed and a new house bought, there’d be few doubts about the 23-year-old’s commitment to the Barca cause.
The same can be said for Messi and Suarez. While there have been no rumours about the latter, the former—rated as the greatest player of all time by many—will always be the subject of speculation.
However, as part of arguably the finest attacking trio assembled in the game’s history, Messi can continue to enrich his legacy further at the Camp Nou.
