While Hamann wasn't sure if he'd fit the bill, the 42-year-old responded to the request on Twitter on Sunday, and he was pictured at the hospital bedside of Myles Hemsley the following day.

Hemsley (11, per Liverpool Echo) is undergoing treatment for leukaemia in Worcestershire, per Daily Mirror, which is over 100 miles from Anfield.
If the picture of the three together is anything to go by, Hamann's trip was a definite success. Great work from all involved.
