Daily Fantasy Hockey 2015: NHL DFS DraftKings Optimal Rankings for December 1
The 10-game card on Tuesday night is a boon for all fantasy players because they know they have a wide choice of superstars and role players to choose from in order to make out a $50,000 Draft Kings lineup.
It's vital to use a wide range of players, because that budget can disappear quickly. Anyone who has tried to fill out a roster with high-priced superstars has learned that they will run out of money by the time they reach their defensemen.
In this piece, we will look at different tiers of players at each position. We will give you our top first-tier (top 10), second-tier (11 through 20) and third-tier (21 through 30) players at center, wing and defense.

Centers: Tyler Seguin, Dallas Stars ($8,900), 1st Tier; Tomas Plekanec, Montreal Canadiens ($6,100), 2nd Tier; Henrik Sedin, Vancouver Canucks ($5,000), 3rd Tier
Tyler Seguin is a no-doubt superstar who is approaching the peak of his career. But make no mistake about it, Seguin is not there yet. Give him another year or two, and he may be recognized as the best player in the league.
Seguin is already dynamic, with his explosive speed and a powerful shot he can get away quickly. He has 13 goals and 21 assists in his first 24 games this season, and he has already taken 98 shots on goal. He should be in a position to score multiple points when his Dallas Stars visit the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night.

Tomas Plekanec is a winning player for the Montreal Canadiens, and he has been a key part of the Habs' excellent start this season. He is a sharp passer with a surprisingly accurate shot, and he is also a superb defensive player. That's why he's been on the ice for 18.6 minutes per game. Plekanec has scored seven goals and added 17 assists, and he should score when the Habs host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
Henrik Sedin was a superstar several years ago, but he no longer commands that kind of status at this point in his career. Sedin is still one of the game's great playmakers, and he can also put the puck in the net. Sedin has eight goals and 15 assists through his first 24 games, and he is a mainstay for the Vancouver Canucks. Look for him to get on the board against the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center on Tuesday night.
| 1 | Patrick Kane | Chicago | Minnesota |
| 2 | Jamie Benn | Dallas | Calgary |
| 3 | Max Pacioretty | Montreal | Columbus |
| 4 | Vladimir Tarasenko | St. Louis | Florida |
| 5 | Zach Parise | Minnesota | Chicago |
| 6 | Phil Kessel | Pittsburgh | San jose |
| 7 | Gabriel Landeskog | Colorado | New Jersey |
| 8 | Daniel Sedin | Vancouver | Los Angeles |
| 9 | Alexander Steen | St. Louis | Florida |
| 10 | Patrick Sharp | Dallas | Calgary |
Wings: Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks ($8,600), 1st Tier; Tyler Toffoli, Los Angeles Kings ($6,000), 2nd Tier; Mike Hoffman, Ottawa Senators ($5,400), 3rd Tier

Patrick Kane has been off to the best start of his career with 14 goals and 23 assists in his first 24 games. Not only is he connecting on 15.9 percent of his shots this season, he is breaking records with his consistency. Kane has had at least one point in 19 straight games, and that's a record among American-born players.
He had a goal and an assist in his last game against the Los Angeles Kings. Look for the streak to continue on Tuesday night when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild.
As good as Tyler Toffoli has been so far with the Los Angeles Kings, he may only get better from this point forward because his confidence is growing dramatically. Toffoli is a prime goal scorer, as he has put the puck in the net 11 times this season and connected on 18.6 percent of his shots. Toffoli has been getting to the front of the net, and he can jump on rebounds and deflect point shots into the goal. Look for him to score when the Kings host the Canucks on Tuesday night.

Mike Hoffman continues to get better with the Ottawa Senators. He has been a sharp goal scorer, but his passing and puck-handling has picked up this season. Hoffman has scored 10 goals and 11 assists this season, and he has scored four of his goals on the power play. Look for Hoffman to dominate around the net when the Sens host the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.
| 1 | Brent Burns | San Jose | Pittsburgh |
| 2 | Erik Karlsson | Ottawa | Philadelphia |
| 3 | P.K.Subban | Montreal | Columbus |
| 4 | Roman Josi | Nashville | Arizona |
| 5 | Kris Letang | Pittsburgh | San Jose |
| 6 | John Klingberg | Dallas | Calgary |
| 7 | Ryan Suter | Minnesota | Chicago |
| 8 | Mark Giordano | Calgary | Dallas |
| 9 | Shea Weber | Nashville | Anaheim |
| 10 | Brent Seabrook | Chicago | Minnesota |
Defensemen: John Klingberg, Dallas Stars ($6,000), 1st Tier; Drew Doughty, Los Angeles Kings ($5,500), 2nd Tier; T.J. Brodie, Calgary Flames ($4,600); 3rd Tier

While Seguin and Jamie Benn may be the two most explosive players in the Dallas lineup, John Klingberg may be just as responsible as those two superstars for the Stars' tremendous start. Klingberg is a fine skater and he handles the puck with ease. He is an excellent passer, and while he can't produce the kind of velocity Zdeno Chara, Shea Weber or P.K. Subban get on their shots, he can pick a corner from long distance. Klingberg has five goals and 22 assists, and he should hit the scoreboard against Calgary.

It's hard to believe Drew Doughty is not ranked within the top 10 of Draft Kings' defensemen ratings, but he checks in at No. 11, so we will jump on him here. He is a complete player, and he is often at his best offensively when the Kings are down a goal in the third period. He can make the play with his shot or an accurate pass that brings about a scoring opportunity. Doughty has two goals, 10 assists, 43 hits and 30 blocked shots this season.
T.J. Brodie is one of the Calgary Flames' best puck movers, and he can create plays when he starts skating and gathers speed as he crosses the center red line. He has two goals and five assists for head coach Bob Hartley, and he could be ready for a breakout game against Dallas on Tuesday night.
