Ole Miss + South Carolina = Upset Alert

South Carolina started off the season rocky at best. They had no offense to mention against NC State. The South Carolina defense looked to be formidable as the Game Cocks won this defensive struggle. The next week took them "Between the Hedges" to play a Georgia team that had looked offensively challenged against a weak Oklahoma State team in a loss the week before. Both teams seemed to come together offensively that day. Both teams have had good offensive shows since that day. South Carolina remains at home this week to host Ole Miss. The stage seems to be set for an epic offensive battle between two of the best game coaches in the business.

Ole Miss comes in to this week's game with more questions than answers. They have not been pushed or tested by a good football team this year. So far the Offense has been out of Sync and the defense has looked sluggish and reluctant at times. This will be the rebels first test against good competition. 

Both teams come into this game healthy and rested. Both quarterbacks come in to this game with much hype and expectation. The defenses come in to this game on different footing. Ole Miss comes in with a poor defensive performance in week one against Memphis and a sluggish performance against Directional U last week. South Carolina comes in with three average performances under there belt. Ole Miss has the definite advantage in experience, South Carolina has the advantage in speed. 

Steve Spurrier and Houston Nutt will call an aggressive offensive game this week with lots of fire works for fans. This should be an offensive show with the defense making just enough difference. Steve Spurier has been looking more like his 90's self lately and Houston Nutt is cagey and illusive.

I think the advantage in this game is evident from their meeting last season. South Carolina was better on defense then, but much worse on offense. I must say advantage South Carolina. Never count out Houston Nutt's ability to pull a carrot from a dung heap though.
