Daryl Williams Replaces Norwell

Norwell suffered his injury in the third quarter, and John Clayton of ESPN called his return questionable. Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer confirmed Williams replaced the left guard, and Steve Reed of the Associated Press noted it was a hamstring issue for the lineman.
An undrafted free agent out of Ohio State in 2014, Norwell caught on quickly with the Panthers. He took over as a starter at left guard in Week 7 last season, with Khaled Elsayed of Pro Football Focus calling him "something of a revelation."
Norwell's strong play carried over into this season, notably in Week 6 against the Seattle Seahawks, when Elsayed rated the former Buckeye as one of the top two guards for the week and said he deserves "legitimate Pro Bowl consideration."
However, in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, Norwell suffered a hamstring injury that caused him to miss three games. He did return in Week 12 and hasn't missed a game since.
The good news is Carolina quarterback Cam Newton has been so good at adapting to every scenario and creating plays with his arm and legs this season that Norwell's absence wasn't a hindrance to the team during the regular season.
The Panthers will be a much better team with him in the lineup, but they have proved to be capable of surviving even against a Broncos pass rush that features Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware.
