New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

The two most recent kings of the AFC are facing off on a Sunday Night Football clash. Another chance to see the two best active quarterbacks of our time battle, right?

Well, not quite.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are still firing on all cylinders and take a 10-0 record into Sunday, but the same can't be said of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos—who sit at 8-2, but more importantly are without their leader.

After Brock Osweiler made his starting debut last week in a win against Chicago, he'll get the nod again against the Pats as Manning is still battling his foot injury, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport:

The sad truth is the Broncos might be better off—at least in the short term—with Osweiler than with an obviously hobbled Manning. The Sheriff has been far from his usual dominant self in 2015, throwing a whopping 17 interceptions to just nine touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Brady has thrown 25 touchdown tosses to just four interceptions, leading the Pats as they hope to finish 16-0 for the second time in his career.

The odds are with them to do it, as NFL on ESPN noted:

New England is still unbeaten, but looked far from unstoppable in its latest outing—an ugly 20-13 win over Buffalo. With its skill-position players dropping like flies, defenses are keying on Rob Gronkowski—who caught just two of his seven targets Monday against the Bills.

With the Denver defense proving incredibly stout this season, the Patriots will have a tough time again moving the ball down the field and dealing with pressure in the backfield. But it's just hard to see Osweiler dealing it around enough to thwart a similarly strong Pats defense.

Expect Brady to get it done and push the Pats to 11-0 in a tight affair.

Prediction: Patriots 24, Broncos 20
