WWE Survivor Series 2015: Results That Will Have Biggest Impact at TLC PPV

Aaron BowerNov 25, 2015

Although Survivor Series was a largely disappointing show for WWE fans, there were some results that set things up intriguingly for the future.

With Tables, Ladders and Chairs just under three weeks away, it's inevitable there are going to be some matches at that show built on the fallout from Survivor Series.

Whether it's from the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament or the other title matches that took place at Survivor Series, there are several results from last Sunday that will shape the identity of the card at TLC, with these three prime examples.

Monday Night RAW

Charlotte def. Paige

Given how Paige spoke out on Raw the following night about how Charlotte's victory at Survivor Series was littered with controversy, it seems likely this rivalry will run through to Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

They would fight again on Raw, but it would end with both stars being counted out, so there's still no definitive ending to this feud.

And what makes this feud so likely to continue on to TLC is the fact that WWE doesn't have any plans for its other Divas at the moment.

Sasha Banks is floating around without any real direction, which is a shame, as she's one of the most talented female wrestlers around.

But with Paige's heel turn giving her some decent heat, not least because of those controversial comments in the Raw prior to Survivor Series, this feud doesn't feel like it's done with just yet.

Charlotte's victory only increases the chance of them meeting again at TLC.

Dean Ambrose def. Kevin Owens

This result didn't feel like having any influence on what could happen at TLC at the time.

Dean Ambrose had seen off Kevin Owens in a decent bout, with Ambrose moving on to the final of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament to face Roman Reigns.

But after a confusing ending to the pay-per-view, which literally left Ambrose jumping over the barrier at the side of the ring and heading off to the back to let Reigns and Sheamus take centre stage, Ambrose is in need of plans for TLC.

Step forward Kevin Owens and a likely feud for the Intercontinental Championship. It may seem like this feud has been hurried together, but it's entirely possible that it could have been planned before Seth Rollins' shock injury in Dublin earlier this month.

It's a meeting of two former NXT stars, and two men who have bags of experience on the independent circuit. Expect sparks to fly both in and out of the ring, as both men deliver star-studded promos and high energy inside the squared circle.

It's a shame that Ambrose didn't get a chance with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, but it's enabled him to step into what could be WWE's best feud of the next few months. All things considered, that loss doesn't feel too bad after all.

Sheamus def. Roman Reigns

Clearly Sheamus' shock victory over Roman Reigns was going to be included on this list.

Even though Reigns paraded down the walkway on Raw this past week and demanded his rematch, it was only ever going to take place at TLC.

Going back a few months, nobody could have predicted that Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns would be WWE's headline bout at the final pay-per-view of 2015.

It's going to be a real challenge for WWE to pump some momentum and enthusiasm into this bout, as it's one that doesn't really have too much of a world title feel to it.

What's vital is that The Authority continue to play a role and screw over Reigns. If the plan is to stick with him as a babyface, then the only way to get him over is by knocking him down over and over again.

It's not quite the same as Daniel Bryan a couple of years ago, but the logic is on the same path. Make Sheamus the untouchable heel and Reigns the babyface who can't catch a break.

Only then will this main event at TLC begin to sit comfortably with WWE fans.
