Dobson Placed on Injured Reserve

Thursday, Nov. 26

The Patriots announced they signed safety Dewey McDonald as a result of losing Dobson for the season.

How Dobson's Injury Impacts Patriots

Dobson is part of a receiving corps that has been dealing with injuries all season. The 24-year-old had just 12 catches for 124 yards heading into the game but has shown he can produce in the past, scoring four touchdowns in his rookie season.

Despite the fact that he hasn't contributed much, the Patriots need as many healthy pass-catchers as possible. The Patriots are already without leading receiver Julian Edelman, and Danny Amendola left Monday's game after suffering a knee injury.

Dobson's injury is unlikely to have a major impact on the offense, but Tom Brady has shown he can make a star out of anyone who is willing to work hard.

Dobson's absence didn't hurt the team much Monday. Brady connected with seldom-used running back James White for a touchdown, and Amendola broke the 100-yard receiving mark before leaving the game.
