Dolph Ziggler vs. Tyler Breeze Announced for WWE Survivor Series 2015 PPV

Danny WebsterNov 19, 2015

Tyler Breeze has quite the task put in front of him in his first pay-per-view match.

The rising star from NXT will make his Survivor Series debut on Sunday, with Summer Rae in his corner, as he goes one-on-one with Dolph Ziggler, the WWE announced on Thursday.

This is going to be a huge task for Breeze, as he's earned the right to be given this opportunity in front of the Atlanta crowd. Going against Ziggler in his first major match is not only a huge compliment to him, but it should be a show-stealing match.

Breeze and Ziggler are both uniquely athletic, but it'll be interesting to see how Breeze can hang with Ziggler in a longer match. Breeze has been in squash matches against R-Truth and was in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament against Dean Ambrose, but this is the first match as a member on the main roster that Breeze will go against someone who wrestles the same style as him.

Ziggler told Benjamin Leatherman of the Phoenix New Times back in late October that he was excited to work with Breeze on the main roster and that he's open to the challenge of working with one of the young guys:

"

I look forward to anything, any kind of challenge, anybody new coming to the roster, anybody that wants to say, "Hey, I'm better than you" or younger or faster. Well, let's see what you got and let's see if you can hang with me. I'm someone who's very open to new challenges, down to do whatever. And it seems like he's pretty good, good head on his shoulders, seems like he knows what he's doing and he's been working really hard for a long time. He used to pick my brain, actually. So I gave him a couple pointers and I hope he can hang in the ring with me, and if he can, he'll be on his way to a hell of a start.

"

This could be one of the more underrated matches on the Survivor Series card on Sunday, and if given a good 12-15 minutes, it could set the tone for a multi-month rivalry up until the Royal Rumble. And, of course, Summer Rae is in the picture because she and Ziggler can never be separated in storylines, ever.
