Bray Wyatt Deserves Elevation Regardless of Survivor Series Outcome

Tom ClarkNov 19, 2015

Bray Wyatt's family is headed for perhaps the biggest night it's ever faced at WWE Survivor Series when it goes to war with The Brothers of Destruction. Kane and Undertaker are out for revenge on Wyatt's clan, and there is very little it can do to stop it.

But this is more than just a storyline feud involving two WWE legends. This is about the heel at the center of it all, a man who deserves to get a main event spot when this feud is all said and done.

Wyatt has all the makings of a top starhe just doesn't have the win-loss record to go along with it.

The last time The Eater of Worlds won a televised match was against Roman Reigns at Battleground on July 19. Since then, he has had a string of losses that just keep piling up. While losses may not mean much to many, the fact is that four months without a win have taken their toll on fans.

At this point, fans want Wyatt to start delivering. He seems to have the tools necessary to get over. He has the character, the mic skills and the ring work to get the job done. Nearly every time he's on TV, he gets a reaction, and fans know that when he's on, he deserves their attention.

The crowd wants new stars to come out of WWE, and with very good reasonit's the one thing the company is in serious lack of right now.

Seth Rollins is currently out with an injury.

With Seth Rollins' injury and John Cena's recent time off, WWE has found itself without two top guys. Rusev and Randy Orton are both still out, Daniel Bryan has shown no signs of returning and when all of this is taken into consideration, the main event scene in WWE has become a wasteland.

The time is now for a talent to rise up, and Wyatt is a perfect candidate.

But in order for that to happen, the company must get behind him. Losing every match he's booked in is not cutting it anymore and is seriously hurting his credibility with the WWE faithful.

Facing off against The Deadman and The Big Red Machine is noteworthy and a great way to build a main event run, but fans must believe Wyatt has a chance to win. His record does not support that, and many fans are likely having a hard time believing he can accomplish anything noteworthy at all.

However, Survivor Series should change all of that.

There has perhaps been no better time to elevate Wyatt than now. Taker and Kane both want vengeance on Wyatt's family, and rather than just taking it by destroying him on November 22, Wyatt should be allowed to shine.

The match itself features The Brothers of Destruction against two members of Wyatt's family. Whether Wyatt is one of those two or not, he should still have an impact on the bout. Wyatt is viewed as a devious mastermind, a scheming manipulator who always has an evil plan and hidden agenda.

A character like that has the potential to go far and could be considered a real threat to any babyface standing in his way.

But instead, Wyatt is often treated as a novelty act that's entertaining in the short term but ineffective in the long term. The truth is he must be given a real opportunity to make a lasting impact on the main event level. Otherwise, he's being wasted.

Despite how much it could hurt his cause and despite how much fans' frustrations will surely increase as a result, Wyatt's side may indeed lose at Survivor Series.

If that does happen, then the next move for Wyatt must not be a return to the norm.

He must be rewarded for the work he's been doing in the ring as well as on the mic against the company's biggest names, and there is none bigger than Undertaker.

Just being in the ring with The Phenom should be enough to move up to something better. This will be Wyatt's second shot at Undertaker, and so far, he's had virtually nothing to show for it. He's the perfect fit for Taker and is really the only character who currently matches up with The Deadman's gimmick.

But being fed to yet another main event star and coming out of it the same as before is not working for Wyatt anymore. He has done everything asked of him, has gotten over in spite of how little he's won in the ring and remains a compelling character in the company.

However, the company must do right by him, and Survivor Series must be the start of that. Wyatt must start winning and impressing on the main event level before fans begin to no longer care about him at all.
