Rams, Edward Jones Dome Cover Concrete with Padding After Reggie Bush's Injury
On the heels of injuries suffered by San Francisco 49ers running back Reggie Bush and Cleveland Browns quarterback Josh McCown at the Edward Jones Dome, the St. Louis Rams are taking measures to prevent these freak accidents.
According to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com, the Rams and Edward Jones Dome stadium authority are covering the concrete directly in front of the stands with padding.

Included in Wagoner's report is a quote from Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, stating the team wanted to take additional precautions to make sure no player is at risk of injury.
"Player safety is of the utmost importance, so we don't want to have any issues," Fisher said. "We're going to do whatever we need to do to make sure we don't have an issue with it."
McCown and Bush were injured in consecutive weeks after slipping on the concrete surrounding the field. Bush suffered a torn MCL during the 49ers-Rams game on Nov. 1 that ended his season, and Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported on Nov. 8 that Bush was planning to file a lawsuit against the city of St. Louis.
La Canfora reported Bush hired the KWIKA law firm and that the NFL Players Association got in touch with the NFL to discuss the safety hazards at the Edward Jones Dome.
The NFL has made player safety a huge priority in recent years, penalizing and fining players for helmet-to-helmet hits as a preventive measure against concussions. Given what has happened to two players in short succession, it's no surprise that the Rams acted to avoid another unnecessary injury.
