Hisashi Iwakuma Reportedly Agrees to 3-Year Contract with Los Angles Dodgers
Free-agent pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma has reportedly agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
ESPN's Jim Bowden first reported the news Sunday and CBS Sports' Jon Heyman later confirmed it, adding it was "believed to be" a three-year agreement.
His former team, the Seattle Mariners, were also considered a potential landing place for Iwakuma, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported Saturday. Rosenthal reported the San Francisco Giants were also interested in Iwakuma despite signing Jeff Samardzija.

Iwakuma finished the 2015 season with a 9-5 record, 3.54 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 111 strikeouts in 20 starts for Seattle. He baffled the Baltimore Orioles on Aug. 12 and threw the first American League no-hitter since Felix Hernandez accomplished the feat in 2012.
Iwakuma also induced weak hits throughout the season, with only 26.1 percent of the balls put in play against him classified as hard contact, per FanGraphs. That mark was a career low.
After losing out in the Zack Greinke sweepstakes, signing Iwakuma represents the Dodgers' first step in attempting to fill the void.
