DeAngelo Williams, Antonio Brown, Ben Roethlisberger Post-Week 9 Fantasy Advice

Timothy RappNov 8, 2015

Le'Veon Bell owners who handcuffed the star running back with DeAngelo Williams are breathing easy Sunday. Those who didn't are probably currently having a panic attack.

Williams, in his first start since Week 2, exceeded 20 fantasy points in standard-scoring leagues by halftime in Sunday's contest against the Oakland Raiders, the second time in three starts this season he's accomplished the feat.

The former Carolina Panthers back isn't as talented as Bell is, no, but it's clear the Pittsburgh Steelers trust him as a feature back and won't shy away from getting him a healthy number of touches. He rushed for 204 yards in the first two games of the season while Bell was suspended and rushed nine times for 71 yards last week in relief of Bell, who is out for the season due to injury.

Fantasy owners can safely consider Williams a high-end RB2 with RB1 upside every week. He absolutely should be started in every format.

With Ben Roethlisberger back in the starting lineup, meanwhile, Antonio Brown has returned to the elite echelon of fantasy wideouts. After a string of disappointing performances, he's now exceeded double-digit fantasy points in three straight contests and can safely be trusted as a WR1 once again.

Oh, and he's setting records, too, per the Steelers' official Twitter account:

As for Roethlisberger, it's clear he's still shaking off a bit of rust, though Pittsburgh's offense is dynamic and Big Ben has excellent options in the passing game in Brown and Martavis Bryant. It seems like merely a matter of time before Big Ben is putting up top-five production at quarterback once again.

He also left the game with a foot injury and didn't return, something both Big Ben and Brown owners should monitor very closely this week. If Roethlisberger misses time again, Brown's value will take a slight hit, even if he's shown better chemistry with Landry Jones than he did with Michael Vick. He's arguably fantasy's top wideout with Roethlisberger in the lineup, however, something he won't replicate with Jones.

If Roethlisberger is good to go, though, approach the Steelers offense as usual. Of course, until Big Ben starts consistently producing like a QB1, you might be wise to play the matchups if you have another steady option at the position. But he should return to being an automatic lineup selection sooner rather than later.
