Percy Harvin Injury Update: Bills Place WR on Season-Ending IR
The Buffalo Bills placed wide receiver Percy Harvin on season-ending injured reserve Saturday after the playmaker failed to make progress in his recovery from multiple ailments.
Chris Brown of the team's official site confirmed the move and reported cornerback Leodis McKelvin will fill the void on the 53-man roster. Brown also noted Harvin picked up a knee injury this week in addition to his lingering hip problems, and that prompted the Bills to place him on IR.
At the start of the season, the 27-year-old wideout looked ready for a revitalizing year in Buffalo. He caught five passes for 79 yards and a long touchdown in the team's season-opening victory over the Indianapolis Colts and had 19 grabs through four games.

He failed to record a catch in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, however, and then missed each of the Bills' past two games.
While the team was in London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars during Harvin's absence, Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reported Harvin was contemplating retirement. Mike Rodak and Adam Schefter of ESPN later reported the receiver was frustrated with his injuries but not prepared to call it quits.
Harvin is a dynamic weapon when healthy. That's become increasingly rare in recent years, though. He's missed 27 regular-season games since the start of the 2012 campaign after sitting out just three contests over his first three years in the league.
Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News noted the "Bills can void the final two years of Harvin's deal," so his time with the franchise could already be over. There will likely be teams willing to take a chance on Harvin's skill set, but it's now a weekly hurdle for him to stay healthy.
Buffalo will move forward with a receiving corps that's led by Sammy Watkins, who's battling an ankle injury, and Robert Woods as it tries to end a 15-year playoff drought. Marcus Easley figures to see an increased role as a situational deep threat with Harvin out as well.
