WWE's Top Stories, Rumors and Buzz for Week of November 7

The Doctor Chris MuellerNov 7, 2015

There is a lot of news pertaining to WWE every week, but it seems like the past seven days have had more sad stories than happy ones.

More injuries were reported, a legend and his girlfriend were in a car accident and plans for Survivor Series had to be changed on the fly.

However, there were still a few positive stories to come out during the past week. Let's take a look at what's been going on in WWE lately.

TOP NEWS

WRESTLING: OCT 02 AEW Dynamite/Rampage Pittsburgh
Monday Night RAW

Seth Rollins Injured/Championship Tournament

Seth Rollins has been one of the most consistent performers since he debuted on the main roster with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose at Survivor Series 2012.

Unfortunately, injuries are a part of life in the wrestling business, and according to WWE.com, Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus. It's estimated he will miss at least six months of action.

This means Rollins will have to relinquish the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. While nobody ever wants to see someone give up a title because of injury, this opens the door for someone else to grab a little bit of the spotlight.

A tournament to crown a new champion will take place at Survivor Series. No participants have been announced to date, but there are plenty of people who would love the chance to call themselves the WWE world heavyweight champion.

With Roman Reigns already having earned a shot at the title, he is a lock to be in the tournament, but everyone who competes will have to keep an eye out for Sheamus in case he decides to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on the winner.

Randy Orton Injured

Another bit of unfortunate news coming from WWE.com is about another top star being injured. Randy Orton has been diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder.

Orton has had issues with his shoulders for years, and the problem may require surgery to repair in order to prevent it from happening again.

With Orton and Rollins on the shelf, Cena taking time off and a slew of other injuries among NXT and WWE Superstars, the pressure is on management to keep everyone healthy and find ways to fill the void left by the absence of these Superstars.

If there was ever a time for someone to grab that "brass ring," it's now. WWE has been crediting the Wyatt Family with taking Orton out, so expect the Viper to target Wyatt and his followers when he eventually returns.

2 New Legends

As many of you know, WWE signs certain people to something called a legends contract. It's a way for past stars to make a little money in exchange for making appearances for the company.

This past week saw two Superstars to join the list of wrestlers with these deals. The worm-eating Boogeyman and '90s standout Tatanka have both inked deals, according to WWE.com.

The Boogeyman is probably still fresh in most people's minds, but Tatanka is someone younger fans may not be familiar with.

Before Goldberg was crushing WCW Superstars left and right as he built his impressive undefeated streak, Tatanka went unbeaten for over a year on WWE television.

Both of these Superstars have unique characters, and it will be interesting to see if either shows up at Raw or SmackDown in the near future for a surprise appearance.

Jerry Lawler and His Girlfriend Involved in Car Accident

The night of October 31, Jerry Lawler and his girlfriend, Lauryn McBride were hit by another car. Lawler told WWE.com that he was alright but that his girlfriend ended up in the hospital.

"

I'm fine, but Lauryn is pretty banged up. We had taken care of the trick-or-treaters and went for pizza right near the house. We were coming home to catch the end of the University of Memphis game. I was sitting at a red light at a busy intersection not a minute from my house.

I got the green arrow to make a left turn. I started making the turn and I saw the car coming, not slowing down at all. The driver ran a red light.

Lauryn was in the ER for four hours. Her face is really, really swollen on the left side. They also put her in a leg brace and knee immobilizer. I think she has a concussion because this morning when she got up, she fell down and saw stars and black spots.

"

Anyone who has ever been in a car accident knows just how scary it can be, especially when you are hurt. The good thing is everyone made it out of this unfortunate incident without suffering any life-threatening injuries.

If you have a Twitter account, send @JerryLawler and @Lauryn911 a message wishing McBride a speedy recovery and letting them know the WWE Universe is glad they're safe.

Damien Sandow Using Old Gimmick Again

Hallelujah! A report from WrestleZone.com is saying Damien Sandow has been using his old Intellectual Savior gimmick at WWE live events.

This is great news, as Sandow was at his best when he was talking down to everyone in pink trunks and purple kneepads. His mic skills were off the charts from the moment he debuted, but WWE's lack of faith forced him to change his character multiple times.

We saw him impersonate different people for a little while; he was the Miz's stunt double for a long time and, most recently, he mimicked Macho Man Randy Savage.

Returning to the characters that got him brought up to the main roster in the first place might be just what he needs to get back on television and in the hunt for a title.

We've seen him have great matches and stand up to the best WWE has to offer in a promo. Sandow's potential is limitless. He just needs one more chance to prove he is capable of succeeding.
