Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Best Twitter Reactions to Browns' Loss

Laureen IratNov 5, 2015

The Cincinnati Bengals managed to keep their winning streak intact after defeating the Cleveland Browns 31-10 at home on Thursday night. Although the Bengals were the favorites to win Thursday night and, at times, more superior on the field, the Browns allowed them to advance to an 8-0 record due to some poor plays and lack of offensive power.

There was a lot of excitement and intrigue heading into Thursday night's game. For the Bengals, their clean, undefeated status was on the line. For the Browns, all eyes were on young quarterback Johnny Manziel, who started in place of Josh McCown (injured rib), making it his fourth start in the two years he's been in the NFL. Thursday's game served as a test for both teams, but the Bengals were able to walk away the victor.

Bengals QB Andy Dalton had a productive night, completing 21 of 27 passes on 234 yards, with three of those passes resulting in touchdowns. Manziel, however, struggled due to the Bengals defense, only completing 15 of 33 passes for 168 yards with one touchdown.

The Bengals came out swinging in the first half, scoring their first touchdown of the night by tight end Tyler Eifert, bringing the score to 7-3.

Things started to heat up in the second quarter, and the competition was officially on. Eifert scored another touchdown, bringing the lead to 14-3. However, Manziel brought out his "Johnny Football" side, passing the ball to running Duke Johnson Jr., who would score the Browns' only touchdown of the night for 12 yards.

More entertaining than that play was Manziel's solo celebration on the sideline, and the fans seemed to agree.

The only scoring from either team in the third quarter came in the form of a 28-yard field goal by Bengals place-kicker Mike Nugent at the 4:05 mark, bringing the score to 17-10. Browns fans understandably remained hopeful that their guys would capitalize off of such a close score and make a touchdown or two, with Johnny Football reappearing during the fourth quarter.

As we saw, the Bengals were having no parts of that, and wide receiver Mohamed Sanu scored a 25-yard touchdown. The Browns tried to get their offense together, but the Bengals stepped up their defense on Manziel.

With a final score of 31-10, the Bengals keep the undefeated streak rolling, making it the best season start in franchise history.

As for the Browns, we all know that the blame usually rests on the shoulders of the team's star, and poor Manziel has quite a heavy load to carry over the next week. Like this...
