Alberto Del Rio Must Go Full Heel with Zeb Colter at WWE Survivor Series 2015
When Alberto Del Rio returned as the surprise opponent for John Cena at WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, wrestling fans were excited to see what the company had up its sleeve for the talented performer.
What the WWE Universe was presented with, though, was Del Rio aligning himself with his former foe Zeb Colter and forming an unlikely alliance to fight for the rights of a new nation the duo dubbed MexAmerica.
It is still unclear whether Del Rio and Colter are heels or faces—all signs point to the duo having bad intentions—but WWE has left the waters murky to keep the fans guessing. That’s why it’s so important that Del Rio and Colter go full-blown heel at the 2015 edition of Survivor Series.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Both the United States champion and his new manager have built their careers off being the heels, and the WWE Universe prefers to boo these men. While WWE is looking for a top Latino star, smart booking suggests Del Rio should be involved in an elaborate scheme with Colter.
One of the reasons people didn’t like Del Rio when he left was the fact that he was booked in the same boring feuds. While returning to fight Jack Swagger is not a remedy for that, the champion has shown a serious edge and will look to establish his dominance against a glorified jobber.
With new stomps in the corner and the continued usage of the finishers that made him a world champion, Del Rio has looked stronger than ever upon his return. Add the fact that the storyline itself will have an edge, as Colter knows exactly how to use political topics to get a reaction, and this duo will make an impact on the WWE Universe.
It’s clear that Swagger was not the ideal choice for a return feud, but from a storyline perspective, it makes sense. Despite Swagger being awful on the mic, this is an angle that will run through at least Survivor Series.
Needless to say, Del Rio needs to destroy Swagger in full heel fashion.
Add the fact that a strong, dominant heel run over the coming weeks would establish Del Rio as a top star on the roster, and the result would be a marquee return feud for Cena when he comes back to challenge for the U.S. title in a rematch.
As much as we’ve seen Del Rio vs. Cena over the years, this would be from a new perspective and could have different results. If Cena was willing to put him over again, it’s possible Del Rio beats Cena when he returns as well.
A memorable heel turn would be the start to a special run for Del Rio and Colter.
