Hyde Has Surgery on Broken Foot
Wednesday, Jan. 20
Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reported Hyde should be healthy enough to participate in the offseason program starting in April.
San Francisco's offense had a myriad of problems this season, starting with a bad offensive line and quarterback Colin Kaepernick's fall from grace. Hyde's presence was the team's only hope to take the pressure off the passing game, as he did in Week 1 with 168 yards and two touchdowns.
The 49ers have higher hopes for next season, as they have the No. 7 pick in the 2016 NFL draft and Chip Kelly as their new head coach to lead the way.
Hyde's health is important to this team's long-term outlook, as he's one of the offense's biggest talents. As long as his recovery goes as planned, the 49ers should have the talented running back on the field in plenty of time for next season.
