Mark Martin Cashes In All Of Montoya's Respect Chips

One of the best “racing” event I’ve seen in a long time, there were battles all over the track, every second of the race.

I thought Hamlin was the most consistent, I’m starting to like no. 11 style of racing, Tony was a mess and J. Gordon had problems all day, a little disappointing for those two.

But lets get back to the important players .

In the last restart at the turn no. five slowed down to a snails’ pace , if you’re a hardcore race fan you know what usually happens when a car in the move is faced with a slow car ,right, you lift them and move then out of the way, that is standard procedure.

Montoya in the post race interview said “Martin screwed me …..” also something like , and this is not a per word quote, but the street meaning was clear, I gave you a break this time , next time I’m going to move out of the way.

It was clear on the replay Montoya had the momentum to pass in him in the turn, but Martin was able to slow the momentum, hate to say it but if it would have been any other driver they would have had their rears punted.

Martin knows that he was not going to get punted by anyone, well, maybe Kyle Busch.

I did not want to see this No. 5 and No. 42 in a sprint with couple laps to go, I know Montoya would give this guy a break.

They have become good friends , I suggest to No. 42 , if you need a friend during the last three laps of a chase race get a dog.

Please understand what I’m saying, there is nothing wrong with the move Mark Martin did , even Montoya said he would of done the something, the thing is you better do it to someone who is not going to punt you.

So for the Montoya haters , there you go! he gave Mark Martin a break.

So don’t get mad next time, because if it happens again the results will be different.

Mark Martin has cashed all his Montoya respect chase chips in race one.

Juan Pablo Montoya sits fourth in the chase and in good shape.
