Jamarcus Russell Delivers With Season on The Line
I know what everybody was saying throughout the game. Something similar to this, "this kid can't throw worth a sh!t." Hey, I'll admit it, I was saying stuff like that as well.
Just like last week, Russell was off the mark on open targets early and often. The playcalling was there as Zach Miller was open for a big gain but Russell put it out of reach for the TE. McFadden was open with room to run but once again Russell threw the ball too high for our playmaking RB. He also threw what should have been a pick six but the KC defender let it go through his hands.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He completed just 7 of 24 attempts for 109 yards for the game. Nothing to write home about but what he did on the game winning drive was what we all expect of our franchise QB.
Russell looked poised and in command of the offense on that game winning drive. Instead of folding under the pressure after a sub par performance, he stepped up when we needed him most. He delivered strikes to Louis Murphy and Todd Watkins for 19 and 28 yards on that TD scoring drive capped off by McFadden's five yarder for the go-ahead score.
This makes it two straight games where Jamarcus Russell delivered with the game on the line. He still has a lot to improve on but at least he was on point when it counted. If he can just get it going earlier, these games won't be coming down to the wire.
His performance could have been a lot better but the bottom line is that he delivered with the "season" on the line and I'll take a win any way it comes. Losing two close games to division rivals would have been very hard to bounce back from.
Now the team will be fired up and ready to punch the Broncos in the mouth!
