Alcohol and Football predictions don't mix

Alcohol and Football predictions don’t mix.. Its like Guns and Whiskey, Milk and Grapefruit juice,  Spartans and the Wolverines.. Some things just don’t go together.

So, in June when the SpartyMSU Conference was held in East Lansing, we should have been more careful…  Even with the expertise flying in from Annapolis, Kalamazoo, Detroit… We did go over in depth each team, and we were not incorrect in our assessments of each enemy, but rather our forecast of the Spartan team 2 – 3 months in the future….. we were full of something.  The Predictions were based upon why the Spartan can win, rather than how the games might play out….. So we learn just like the players…

We predicted 11 – 1… The single loss in the prediction coming form JoePa..   Our original prediction was
2009 Prediction: 12 – 1, including Bowl Win..
Everyone predictied we'd win these first 3 games.. but.. we were wrong...

So,  we have to now wear this foolish prediction clown face for the rest of the year.. Yeah, we were Wrong.. Yeah, we were filled with Hope.. Yeah we were not thinking with our sober brains..  

Understand this, there is no regression, no collapse, there is no weakness.  The Spartans are coming. They will contend, They are a Program on the rise.  Dantonio is laying the foundation.  And building the Spartan House will no doubt take time. It will not be without side steps.  The Spartan Nation should not worry, but revel in the Net growth of the program. 

The SKY is not falling chicken little.  If you are a saying the season s over.. your not a fan, and not looking for the long term results and expectations. Instant gratification is not what we should want, expect or desire here boys…  Relax… we’re OK.

The loss to CMU and Notre dame are due to 2 different issues. CMU: was clearly a Team not focused. The Loss to Notre Dame was due to a few mental errors, and a final drive decision to throw by a young Quarter Back.  We over came the Focus issue, no the Spartans have to over come the throwing decision issue…

 If you look to the SpartyMSU Poll numbers; the readers voted for an over all Season record of 9 – 3, and that’s probably more closer to the truth than  the Beer and Crown flooded brains filled with irrational exuberance for our Green and White Team..

We need to stay behind the team. And move on the game in Madtown against the Badgers.
