With the Pittsburgh Pirates hosting the Chicago Cubs in the NL Wild Card Game, Pittsburgh saw an opportunity. Capitalizing on home-field advantage is key to a successful playoff run, so why not give the players a little (legal) help?

We're not talking instructing fans to cheer or yell "charge." We're talking full-fledged instructions.

During the Wednesday night game, Yahoo Sports MLB columnist Jeff Passan pointed out that fans were chanting the name of Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta in a rather irritating manner.

@JeffPassan That's what the piece of paper said to do. Ha http://t.co/1IbSYUfDtg

KTGR radio host Brandon Kiley shared an interesting image in response:

PNC Park is breaking out in a stadium-wide chant of "Ar-ri-e-ta," all sing-songy like it did w/ Johnny Cueto in 2013. He responds with a K.

The plan is for fans to be united in a more complex strategy than merely making noise. Clever, Pittsburgh. At worst, it's much more respectable than when the Georgia Bulldogs had to teach "fans" how to properly cheer on their team:
