Alec NathanOct 7, 2015

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the media Wednesday afternoon following an owners meeting in New York City, and he touched on a wide range of subjects, including the potential of a franchise in Los Angeles, sites of future international games and how fantasy football is impacting the league.

Here's an overview of the big topics Goodell discussed with reporters.

Buzz has surrounded the potential relocation of one of the NFL's existing franchises to Hollywood for years now, but the league appears closer than ever to deciding whether that will become a reality.

"There's interest in being back in the entertainment capital of the world." Goodell said Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Albert Breer. "But we have to do it right."

The Los Angeles Times' Sam Farmer followed up with an important development regarding the timeline of a potential move:

Sports Illustrated's Andrew Brandt provided a logistical recap of how many owners would need to vote in favor of the move to ship a team to L.A.:

Goodell also discussed a relocation to Los Angeles with regard to teams already playing in California, such as the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders, per Brandt:

"I really think the excitement of coming back and having a new stadium—and the potential that the new stadium are could be kind of like an NFL Disneyland," Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay told USA Today's Lorenzo Reyes. "The traction in that is really exciting."

Legality of Fantasy Football

Goodell also spoke about the NFL's stance on daily fantasy sites from a legal standpoint.

"States are the ones that make the determination about what is legal and what is not legal," Goodell said, per Sports Illustrated's Don Banks. "We will follow that."

Goodell also noted the NFL hasn't engaged in direct financial relationships with daily fantasy sites, according to Breer:

However, the commissioner added he can't envision fantasy sports impacting on-field results, per Farmer:

International Series

Owners from the NFL's 32 teams voted Wednesday to extend the league's international series through 2025, per the New York Times' Ken Belson.

And while games have exclusively been played in London since the international series began in 2007, the NFL is eyeing showdowns in other foreign locales.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora provided the details:

In July, the NFL signed a 10-year deal with English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur to play games at the team's new stadium, which is slated to open in 2018.

The United Kingdom will evidently be the primary international partner for the NFL moving forward, but the league appears to be exploring ways to broaden its horizons elsewhere.

New PAT Rules

Lastly, Goodell appeared pleased with the NFL's shift to a 33-yard extra point.

"Our PAT rule, which we're very excited about, it's had a very positive impact," Goodell said, per Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "It's exactly what the competition committee focused on."

According to Goodell, per Pro Football Talk, the success rate on extra points is "about 94 percent," which is down from a mark of 99.6 percent a year ago. He also said two-point-conversion success rates have ticked up to 53 percent from 47.5 percent last season.

However, players like former Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Kyle Brindza may disagree. Brindza missed two field goals and an extra point in the Bucs' 37-23 Week 4 loss to the Carolina Panthers and was subsequently cut.

With kickers under the microscope more than ever, the long extra point could eventually cost more kickers their jobs.
