September 18, 2009

On this day (um, today) in sports history, Colin Cowherd acted like a complete and utter buffoon to promote his daily radio show on ESPN Radio.

We’re privy to major sports networks integrating sports equipment into their broadcasts so that we explicitly understand that they’re talking about athletics.  God knows the general public could wrongfully deduce that John Kruk was talking about shoreline scalloping if he wasn’t holding a baseball bat while standing on a gigantic studio baseball field.  Silly us.

Nevertheless, the Cowherd advertisement above might be taking the aforementioned strategy a little far.

Actually, rumor has it that Cowherd’s agents insisted that he wear a baseball helmet to work after getting pelted in the head by a co-worker’s lunchtime apple as he was walking into the ESPN studios.  Turns out, Coherd’s peers find him as intrinsically annoying as we do.
