Aaron Rodgers, James Jones, Randall Cobb's Post-Week 1 Fantasy Advice

Timothy RappSep 13, 2015

Jordy Nelson or no Jordy Nelson, the Green Bay Packers are going to have an elite passing offense in 2015, with Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb and James Jones leading the way.

Wait, Jones? Really?

More on that in a moment.

Rodgers, expected to be one of fantasy's top two quarterbacks this season, torched the Chicago Bears once again, exceeding 20 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues, while both Cobb and Jones reached double-digit points themselves.

Rodgers and Cobb remain must-start players every single week. Rodgers is the league's best quarterback, while Cobb will be his top receiving option and has WR1 upside this season. There's no reason to get cute with either player—the only time the two should be on your bench is if they have a bye week or they're injured.

Jones was a bigger surprise, however. Re-signed by the team after Nelson went down for the year, he caught two touchdown passes in the team's win over the Bears, reminding folks of his 2012 season with the Packers, when he caught 14 touchdown passes.

No, he won't score that many touchdowns this year. But while folks scrambled to draft Davante Adams in the wake of Nelson's injury, Jones may prove to be the more valuable asset. While he should remain a WR4 right now—don't overreact to one big game, folks—he's absolutely worth rostering and could ultimately prove to be Rodgers' No. 2 target behind Cobb.
