Episode 30 of the JoeSportsFan Show kicked off with a little “This Week in History” – where we recap a variety of interesting nuggets that occurred in the weird, wild, world (+2 blogging points for good usage of alliteration) of sports yesteryear.  We managed to slip in Fernando Tatis and Gordon Gekko references, which makes me appreciate these mini history lessons even more.

Mr. Bacott also recapped his weekend at the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.

During our weekly “Wiffle Ball” round table segment, we were joined by Jon Pyle (a grizzled show veteran) and Chris Littman (an energetic show virgin).  You can find their outstanding work at the following outlets.

  • Jon Pyle: Pyle of List and True Slant
  • Chris Littmann: FirstCuts, The Sporting Blog and The Baseline

The duo performed very well in their first JoeSportsFan pairing, as they brought the heat on the following five questions:

  • With Week One in the books, what one NFL team has drastically shifted your opinion of them in 2009?
  • What is one common stadium bathroom infraction that you’d like to see banished?
  • Who is the one NFL analyst that you would most like to see get their own sitcom?
  • What is one sports equipment rule that you’d like to see modified?
  • Cast two notable sports personalities for Abbott & Costello’s “Who’s On First?” routine. Go. (submitted by @uublog)

After Wiffle Ball with our esteemed guests, Mr. Sebek and Mr. Bacott conducted a little Week One Random Observations.
