Tiger Woods Meets Golf Legend Christopher 'Shooter McGavin' McDonald
At one point this Labor Day weekend, all-time golf great Shooter McGavin broke away from enjoying the U.S. Open to take a picture with a fan.
It was a special fan, to be sure—a guy who likely spent most of his childhood hoping he would one day match McGavin's fictional prowess on the links:
"Two golf legends catching up with each other at the U.S. Open the other day @TigerWoods pic.twitter.com/kU8AFfnLPb
— Shooter McGavin (@ShooterMcGavin_) September 8, 2015"
I'm not exactly sure who took this picture.
The image appears to have been originally tweeted by the Shooter McGavin parody account (Tiger Woods didn't post the picture, and actor Christopher McDonald doesn't seem to have any authentic social media accounts of his own), which leaves questions as to its origins. The most reasonable guesses would be the guy in charge of the parody account took it himself at the U.S. Open or had it passed onto him.
What I do know for sure is the picture is great and should probably be framed and hung in the Eisenhower Cabin at Augusta National. It's not often you get to see the greatest golfer of a generation chumming it up with the guy who played the greatest golfer of a generation in a '90s comedy classic.
I just hope Woods takes some positive juju away from this encounter and runs with it. I think deep down, Tiger needed a reminder it's OK for him to look his opponents in the eye and say, "You're gonna beat me? At golf? You're on."

It's all about confidence and believing in yourself.
Dan is on Twitter. Boom! Shooter!
