Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool: Strikeout Kings

Here are some reasonably available players to assist you in the Strikeouts category.

Realize that some of these will come with high ERA's and WHIP's because if a pitcher has low numbers in those categories and a good K total, they’re already spoken for. Some of these guys are middle relievers, who can help you if you are beginning to max out in innings pitched.

Jeff Fulchino, Houston Astros

Jeff Fulchino had nine strikeouts in five-and-two-thirds innings (14.3 K/9) last week with a W, a 1.59 ERA, and a 0.53 WHIP. On the year, he’s 6-4 with 62 (74 IP), nine Holds, a 3.28 ERA, and a 1.16 WHIP. He’s owned in one percent of Yahoo! Plus and less than one percent of Yahoo! Public, ESPN, and CBS Sportsline leagues.

Edward Mujica, San Diego Padres

Edward Mujica had eight K last week in eight-and-two-thirds innings (8.3 K/9) with a 2.08 ERA, and a 0.92 WHIP. On the year, he’s 3-4 with 68 K (85-and-two-thirds IP) with two Saves, 11 Holds, a 3.36 ERA, and a 1.18 WHIP. He’s owned in seven percent of Yahoo! Plus, two percent of Yahoo! Public, 0.4 percent of ESPN, and two percent of CBS Sportsline leagues.

Bud Norris, Houston Astros
