Dean Ambrose Nearly Attacked by Fan During WWE SmackDown Taping
Seth Rollins might want to take extra precautions. First, a fan hurled a replica Money in the Bank briefcase at Roman Reigns earlier in the month. More recently, WWE security was forced to subdue a fan who hopped the railing in an apparent attack on Dean Ambrose, per Danielle Matheson of With Spandex.
Instagram user "daily_ambrollins" shared a video that was captured by a fan at the SmackDown taping in Providence, Rhode Island:
Twitter user "Carmellathan Good" believed the fan was trying to stab Ambrose with an unknown object, noting the situation could've ended much worse:

The incident certainly brings to mind a few of the more infamous occurrences of fans trying to be a part of the action.
In 2012, members of the WWE Universe took exception to CM Punk's presence and, in Punk's own words, threatened to push him down the stairs. During a ladder match between Eddie Guerrero and Rob Van Dam on a 2002 edition of Raw, a fan actually managed to push the ladder out from under Guerrero as he was climbing up. He landed on his feet, avoiding any injury.
Luckily, security reached the fan before he could follow through with his plan against Ambrose.
It wouldn't be a surprise if WWE beefs up security a bit to ensure a similar incident doesn't occur again.
