Robert Griffin III Ruled Out vs. Ravens After Initially Being Cleared to Play
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was forced to leave last week's preseason game against the Detroit Lions with a head injury, and he will remain out against the Ravens on Saturday despite being cleared by an independent neurologist Thursday.
On Friday, the neurologist released a statement on the decision to recommend Griffin be withheld from action, via Albert Breer of NFL Network:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Yesterday, the Redskins' official Twitter account revealed Griffin was cleared for action in their third preseason game.
Griffin was consistently crunched by the Lions defense as Washington's offensive line struggled to protect him.
With rookie Brandon Scherff and 2014 third-round pick Morgan Moses still trying to build continuity at right guard and right tackle, respectively, Griffin has had little time to get into a comfortable rhythm during exhibition action.
"I try to find ways where maybe I could’ve seen that coming," Griffin said Thursday, according to ESPN.com's John Keim. "We all just try to get better and when I watch that tape I don’t point the finger. I just say, 'All right, this is what I could’ve done a little bit better' and you move on."
The Ravens' defense got in some big hits on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford last week, so perhaps this cautious approach is for the best as Griffin looks to get back to 100 percent heading into the regular season.
