Marshawn Lynch Reportedly Fined $75K for Media Silence After NFC Championship
Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was unable to avoid a significant fine for not talking to the media following the team's NFC Championship Game win over the Green Bay Packers in January.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the NFL docked Lynch $75,000 for avoiding the media after the game.
On January 22, four days after the Seahawks' victory, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Facebook that the league fined Lynch $20,000 for an obscene gesture after scoring a touchdown, with the potential for more fines as a result of not speaking to the media:

While Lynch initially planned to appeal his fine for not talking to the media, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the running back's appeal had been cancelled on Aug. 27.
In the lead-up to Super Bowl XLIX, Lynch infamously fulfilled his media obligations during media days by responding to questions with, "I'm here so I won't get fined."
NFL spokesman Michael Signora told Rapoport (via NFL.com's Marc Sessler) the league would not fine Lynch for repeating the same answer because he "complied with his obligation to attend all required media sessions at the Super Bowl."
The NFL has a strict media policy that requires players to be available to the media following a game, with "star" players who are in high media demand available once during the practice week along with the postgame obligation.
Lynch's relationship with the media is virtually nonexistent, by his choice. He's paid the price for it multiple times, with the NFC Championship Game fine being only the most recent example.
