WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from August 24

Erik BeastonAug 25, 2015

Monday night, World Wrestling Entertainment went above and beyond to deliver a show that was memorable, injected the product with excitement and set the stage for the rest of the year. They did so by bringing back familiar faces and debuting a new one who will stand by the sides of Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper in their war with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

Braun Stowman made his debut on the main roster Monday night after spending considerable time in developmental. The strange part is that the massive Superstar completely skipped NXT and went right to Raw, where he will now be part of one of the premiere storylines in all of WWE.

Does that mean the company has that much faith in him, or is his look so great that they could not pass up the opportunity to add him to a Wyatt Family in need of a third member?

Whatever the case may be, Sister Abigail's black sheep made a tremendous impact Monday night, dismantling Ambrose and Reigns, and giving the heels the numbers advantage once again.

The Dudley Boyz made their shocking return to WWE as well, interrupting The New Day's latest celebration while putting Xavier Woods through a table, a declaration of their desires to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

After years away from the squared circle, they returned to a deafening pop, proving that their popularity is not dependent on a given era.

And finally, Sting made his return to the company, appearing on Raw for the first time since WrestleMania and targeting WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins. In an interview that aired exclusively on WWE Network, Triple H revealed that the icon will challenge The Architect for the title at Night of Champions.

In each of those instances, the fans were the big winners. But they were far from the only ones.

On the heels of a historic SummerSlam pay-per-view, there were a number of winners (and losers) from this week's episode of Raw.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

After a controversial loss to Undertaker at SummerSlam, the Beast Incarnate got back to doing what he does better than anyone else: destroy fools.

Bo Dallas made the unfortunate mistake of interrupting Lesnar and Paul Heyman at the start of Monday's broadcast and paid for it dearly, taking repeated trips to Suplex City, much to the delight of the bloodthirsty Brooklyn fans.

Lesnar was intense and violent, and the fans ate it up, even if they wanted to see him get his hands on Undertaker following the screwy finish at SummerSlam.

With it unlikely that we see Lesnar for a while, he left an impression on fans as the build to an inevitable rematch with Undertaker began.

Losers: The WWE Divas

Not only was The Miz TV segment awful, but the match between Team PCB and Team Bella that preceded it was not much better.

Filled with far too many rest holds and a decided lack of energy, the match bored the crowd, which resorted to partaking in "the wave" while putting themselves over rather than paying attention to the action that unfolded before them.

The entire ordeal felt like the company trying to manufacture a so-called Divas Revolution without fully understanding that the women of NXT have become what they have organically.

If the company is not careful, they will ruin the entire concept of a revolution, and Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks will become indistinguishable as just more faces in the crowd.

Winner: Stardust

Just 24 hours after a loss to Stephen Amell and Neville at SummerSlam, Stardust snapped, attacking King Barrett, and he cut a promo indicating that his rivalry with The Man That Gravity Forgot will continue into the foreseeable future.

Cody Rhodes has been so fantastic as Stardust over the last two months that it is refreshing to see him getting some time on television and a legitimate rivalry that he can sink his teeth into. A fantastic wrestler, and someone finally fleshing out his character, he deserves this opportunity.

That is, if WWE Creative helps the performer with a story that makes sense and plays to his strengths.
