Karim Benzema Denies Arsenal Transfer Rumours, Says Real Madrid Is 'Home'

Any speculation tying Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema with a move to Arsenal can be considered officially quashed after the player professed his love for Los Merengues.  

The France striker has remained quiet on the incessant rumours regarding a Bernabeu exit this summer, but he took to his official Twitter account on Monday, where he called Real Madrid his "home":

Benzema was linked with a transfer by the Daily Star as recently as Monday morning (via the Daily Telegraph), but the forward's personal intervention effectively rules out any notion of a move.

Real manager Rafa Benitez will be all the more eager to retain the attacker's services after the club drew 0-0 against Sporting Gijon in Sunday's La Liga opener, where his injury absence was painfully noticeable.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is understood to be in the hunt for attacking reinforcements as he looks to offer frontman Olivier Giroud competition up front, with Benzema reportedly topping his wish list.

Gunners fans will be dismayed to see such a talented figure publicly voice his desire to remain in Spain's capital, forced to accept the reality Benzema will not be arriving at the Emirates Stadium anytime soon.
