Hockey players got creative in their preparations to celebrate Halloween 2026.

Here's a look at some of the best costumes across the league as the NHL prepares for a busy 10-game holiday.

Edmonton Oilers stars Connor McDavid and teammate Leon Draisaitl each debuted feathery couples costumes representing KFC's Colonel Sanders and a chicken and the burglars from Home Alone, respectively.

The San Jose Sharks' Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith also coordinated when dressing up as pilots from Top Gun.

Calgary Flames goaltender Devin Cooley went with a Dr. Seuss theme in a couples costume that included his family's pet bunny Tito. The Sharks' Dmitry Orlov and Yaroslav Askarov dressed as the Cheetos mascot and Phineas from Phineas and Ferb, respectively.

The league also saw costumes designed to reference a wide range of films, including the Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson and his wife Taylor Wilson dressing as Tom Hanks and Wilson from Cast Away.

The Pittsburgh Penguins' roster featured couples constumes referencing Minions (Blake Lizotte), Austin Powers (Erik Karlsson), Chucky (Egor Chinakhov) and Nightmare Before Christmas (Rickard Rakell).

Some teams gathered for parties ahead of the holiday weekend.

The Boston Bruins' costume party notably featured Hampus Lindholm's wife as Norwegian soccer star Erling Haaland and Lindholm as Haaland's girlfriend, Nikita Zadorov as a nutcracker and JJ Peterka as King Julien from The Penguins of Madagascar.

Teams including the St. Louis Blues and Tampa Bay Lightning also celebrated by sending players in costume to local children's hospitals.

The NHL is scheduled for a busy 10-day slate this Halloween, starting with 1 p.m. ET matinee games featuring the Chicago Blackhawks at Bruins and Blues at Detroit Red Wings and running all the way until a 10 p.m. ET matchup between the Flames and Colorado Avalanche.
