Glory Johnson Denied Request for Monthly Spousal Support from Brittney Griner
A judge in Maricopa County, Arizona, denied Glory Johnson's request for $20,000 a month in spousal support and legal fees from Brittney Griner, per ABC 15 in Phoenix.
Attorneys for Johnson argued in court that she is pregnant with twins and unable to continue her basketball career for the time being. She announced the pregnancy on Instagram:
"When I go to the grocery store I literally spend $300 every week," the Tulsa Shock forward testified, per the ABC 15 report. "Sometimes it's less because I don't have it." Per ABC 15, Johnson wanted "$7,000 a month for her food budget and $6,000 for hired help and the rest to live on."

Griner countered that even between her WNBA contract and endorsement money, she wouldn't be able to afford paying Johnson $20,000 on a monthly basis.
Griner and Johnson were married on May 8 but separated less than a month later. People's Jeff Truesdell reported last week that Griner's request for an annulment was denied in an Arizona court. "I respect the judge's decision," Griner told People. "We are moving forward with the divorce on a 28-day marriage."
According to BuzzFeed's Lindsey Adler, Griner was feeling "pressure" from Johnson to go through with the commitment:

"In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling," she said in a statement back in June, per ESPNW.com's Kate Fagan. "But I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake."
USA Today's Scott Gleeson also reported in July that Griner alleged Johnson had been unfaithful before the couple had become engaged.
