Valkyries Beat Dream in WNBA Finals Game 5, Box Score Stats, Highlights for Angel Reese, Top Players
The Golden State Valkyries will have the advantage in the WNBA Finals against the Dream as the series tilts back to Atlanta this week.
The Valkyries downed Angel Reese and the Dream 64-55 on Monday to take a 3-2 series lead and put Atlanta on the brink of elimination.
| Player | Points | Rebounds | Assists | Steals | Blocks |
| Kiah Stokes, GSV | 13 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 3 |
| Tiffany Hayes, GSV | 12 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 0 |
| Veronica Burton, GSV | 13 | 8 | 3 | 1 | 4 |
| Cecilia Zandalasini, GSV | 12 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
| Angel Reese, ATL | 7 | 15 | 5 | 0 | 0 |
| Rhyne Howard, ATL | 20 | 5 | 2 | 1 | 1 |
| Allisha Gray, ATL | 10 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 |
While nobody lit up the box score for the Valkyries, center Kiyah Stokes led the way for most of the night, with Veronica Burton holding things down in the backcourt.
Reese did her part on the defensive end with 15 boards, but she couldn't get much going on offense, shooting a lackluster 2-of-8 from the field.
Rhyne Howard led the way on offense, but her 20 points weren't enough on a rough night overall from the offense.
Game 5 wasn't a completely dominant win for the Valkyries, but there was never much of a doubt as they managed to hold off any attempt at a comeback from the Dream.
It was a rough offensive night for both teams, but more so for Atlanta, which shot 29 percent from the field, 23 percent from deep and turned the ball over 15 times. Golden State was slightly better, shooting 39 percent from the field, 25 percent from deep and committing just seven turnovers.
Atlanta seemed to have the momentum after winning Games 2 and 3, but it quickly went back to Golden State after a win in Game 4 and another victory on Monday.
Now, the Valkyries have the chance to close things out on the road on Thursday.
