Stephanie White's Future as HC of Caitlin Clark, Fever Revealed in New WNBA Rumors After GM Firing
The Indiana Fever are expected to keep head coach Stephanie White for the 2027 WNBA season despite the organization undergoing multiple front office changes, according to USA Today's Meghan L. Hall.
The Fever fired general manager Amber Cox on Friday, while team president Kelly Krauskopf also announced that she'd be stepping down from her role.
White has coached Indiana and star Caitlin Clark across the past two seasons.
She also served as Indiana's head coach from 2015-16.
The Fever have gone 52-36 during White's second stint with the organization, making playoff appearances in each of the past two seasons. They advanced to the semifinals in 2025 before suffering a first-round exit this year.
While Krauskopf announced that White had the "full support of leadership" on Aug. 11, her outlook patrolling the sidelines for Indiana appeared to be uncertain after Friday's front office shakeup.
It seems as though White will remain in her current role, however.
It's worth noting that Clark praised her head coach after the Fever were eliminated by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round.
"I really appreciate Steph," Clark said, per SI.com's Grant Young. "This is, I like to say, the best job in women's basketball, and possibly women's sports. Getting to lead this franchise that has so much notoriety. But at the same time, it can come with some negatives, and people are gonna criticize everything that you do, and that's just reality, and people expect greatness."
"I thought our coaching staff spent a lot of time and energy to try to put us in a position to be successful," she added. "Overall, just really thankful for her and really thankful for all the coaches."
Clark put together a stellar 2026 campaign under White, averaging a career-high 22.3 points per game. She also recorded 8.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals on a nightly basis.
