Deion Sanders 'Praying For' Jalen Hurts After Eagles QB's Blood Clot Diagnosis

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is wishing Jalen Hurts well in his treatment after being diagnosed with blood clots.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sanders said he is "praying for" Hurts in the wake of his diagnosis.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, issued a joint statement on Monday announcing Hurts would miss the remainder of the 2026 NFL season after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs.

Sanders has had personal experience with blood clots. He has had two toes amputated related to clotting and circulation issues. Coach Prime said in October 2025, following another surgical procedure, he has had 16 surgeries related to blood clots.

According to the statement from the Eagles and Lynn, Hurts' prognosis is "very good" and they anticipate he will be able to resume his football career in the future.

A seven-year NFL veteran, Hurts has made three Pro Bowls and an All-Pro second team during the 2022 season. He has led the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances, including a victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59.
