Travis Hunter Shines & Marvin Harrison Jr. Debuts, Box Score Stats & Highlights for Texans vs. Jags

The Houston Texans are fighting back.

After starting the season 0-4, the Texans have now won two in a row after Ka'imi Fairbairn's 49-yard field goal gave them a 34-31 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday in London.

C.J. Stroud was brilliant in the team's first game after it traded for Marvin Harrison Jr. and outdueled Trevor Lawrence in the AFC South showdown. Other than Travis Hunter's late interception, Stroud didn't make any mistakes and directed the field-goal drive to improve to 2-4.

As for the Jaguars, they are 4-2 after their three-game winning streak came to an end.

While Harrison made his first catch as a Texan in the opening half, he wasn't much of a factor in the early going.

Houston's top option in Nico Collins was, though, as he hauled in a 42-yard reception to set up Foster Moreau's touchdown in the first quarter. That was just the start of the day for Moreau, who caught another touchdown in the final seconds of the first half to give the Texans a 17-14 advantage at intermission.

His second touchdown came after Stroud unleashed an incredible throw to Jaylin Noel under pressure as the two quarterbacks traded impressive plays. Lawrence bounced back from an early interception to Calen Bullock in the end zone—which came after a controversial holding penalty overturned a touchdown—with two touchdown passes to Bhayshul Tuten.

Lawrence set up the second touchdown with a strike to Hunter after showing his typical chemistry with Parker Washington against a Texans defense that lost Reed Blankenship to injury.

But momentum fully belonged to Houston after the second touchdown to Moreau, and it continued after halftime when a special-teams penalty by Jacksonville on a punt prolonged a drive that Stroud ended with another beautiful throw for a touchdown to Noel after Harrison was move involved.

All that meant was it was Lawrence's turn to respond, as the quarterback showdown continued when the Jaguars answered with a touchdown pass to Nate Boerkircher.

It was the rookie tight end who did the most work with an astounding one-handed catch for his first career touchdown, although Houston bounced right back with a first-career touchdown of its own when Jawhar Jordan broke free for a 25-yard score.

The touchdowns kept coming when the Jaguars turned to Hunter on offense for three catches on the ensuing drive, the last of which found the end zone.

Hunter was just getting started.

Just when it seemed like Houston was going to put the game away with a long touchdown drive in the final minutes, the two-way star picked off Stroud in the end zone to give Lawrence and the Jaguars offense a chance to win it.

They didn't win it, although they tied it with a 60-yard field goal from Cam Little. Although he made it, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen probably has second thoughts about not going for the 4th-and-4 because he put the game back in the hands of Stroud and Co.

Stroud hit Woody Marks to move into field-goal range, and Fairbairn won it for the Texans.

They now have plenty of momentum heading into a matchup with the New York Giants, while Jacksonville has some questions to answer going into its bye.
