Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Dodgers were eliminated from the 2026 MLB postseason with a 6-4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 4 of the NLCS on Thursday night.

The four-time MVP hit a three-run home run on Thursday, but struggled throughout the majority of the postseason.
Ohtani only finished with a .631 OPS in the playoffs, representing a steep drop compared to his career OPS of .948.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts considered benching Ohtani due to his struggles as well as his overall injury concerns after Milwaukee took a 2-0 series lead in the NLCS, but ultimately kept him in the lineup.
It's worth noting that the 32-year-old missed just over two weeks before the start of the playoffs due to lingering left knee and right biceps injuries. Ohtani previously stopped pitching in July after dealing with left knee inflammation.
Still, his overall performance was disappointing after he operated as a key piece of Los Angeles' batting order during its World Series victories in 2024 and 2025.
In 34 combined playoff games across those two seasons, Ohtani racked up 11 homers and 24 RBI to go along with a .248/.390/.550 slash line.
He wasn't able to maintain a similar level of production this year, though.
