Trey Hendrickson Injury Update, Latest Rumors on Ravens Star's Return Timeline Ahead of Browns Game

Julia StumbaughOct 14, 2026

Lamar Jackson and Ja'Kobi Lane might not be the only star players the Baltimore Ravens are potentially getting back before a Week 6 game against the Cleveland.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday the Ravens are "hopeful" defensive end Trey Hendrickson will make his return from a finger injury this weekend.

Hendrickson's status could change "depending how practice goes," Fowler noted.

Hendrickson broke a finger on his right hand in the Ravens' season opener. He played two games with the finger taped before undergoing surgery ahead of Week 4.

He and Lane, who has been sidelined since Week 1 with a wrist injury, were both active in the Ravens' Wednesday practice.

Jackson, who is dealing with a left ankle sprain, did not participate in open practice after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported he has a "realistic" chance of returning Sunday.

Hendrickson recorded one sack and a tackle for loss in three games prior to undergoing surgery.

He also added 14 pressures, 10 hurries and three quarterback hits during the Ravens' 2-1 start to the season.

The Ravens did not place Hendrickson on injured reserve after the procedure, indicating the team expected the star edge rusher to miss fewer than four games.

Hendrickson seemed to be wearing a wrap on his right hand in his Wednesday return to practice.

Lane, who made one catch for 11 yards before he was injured in the first half of his NFL debut, did not appear to be wearing his own wrap or brace. His return to practice opened a 21-day window during which the Ravens can move him back to the active roster.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter said in his Monday press conference he felt both Lane and Hendrickson had "put themselves in a real position" to come back for Week 6.

"Trey will be chomping at the bit to be ready to roll this week...We'll see how that shakes out on Wednesday, but I feel pretty good about both those guys," Minter said.

Whether Hendrickson is able to return will determine how much the Ravens lean on outside linebacker Mike Green, who has recorded eight quarterback pressures in his last two games.

Green wasn't the only backup to step up last weekend, when Tyler Huntley helped the Ravens secure an overtime win at the Atlanta Falcons while Jackson was sidelined.

If Lane is healthy this Sunday, Minter could look to start working the rookie wideout into the Ravens' offensive game plan regardless of whether Huntley or Jackson gets the nod this Sunday in Cleveland.
