Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups Highlighted by Germie Bernard, Kendre Miller, Aaron Rodgers
In certain weeks, the fantasy football waiver wire appears overloaded with intriguing options.
Week 6 of the 2026 NFL season does not appear to be one of those weeks.
The problem is this lack of excitement may not have any bearing on your need to work the waivers. With four teams on a bye in Week 6 (the Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings) and the injury report perpetually piling up, some managers will find themselves needing multiple pickups.
It's not all doom and gloom, by the way. There are viable targetsโwe'll spotlight three who are rostered in fewer than 50 percent of fantasy leagues, per FantasyProsโand while they may not scream excitement, they should be capable streamers and could emerge as more if they surprise.
Germie Bernard, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers (6% Rostered)

Pittsburgh's passing attack is really perking up. In fact, that surge is directly responsible for two of our three recommendations here.
The first is Germie Bernard, a second-round rookie out of Alabama. He had kept pretty quiet through the first four weeksโthough he did see eight targets in Week 2 (they yielded only four catches for 35 yards)โbut Week 5 was a totally different story. His stat line showed one personal-best after the next, as he finished with six receptions on nine targets for 80 yards. He even handled his first career carry.
"We were focused on Germie getting more opportunities today," coach Mike McCarthy told reporters afterward. "He definitely delivered."
The Steelers have no reasons to rethink this strategy. That option may not be available anyway, since Michael Pittman Jr. is on injured reserve, and Roman Wilson could be out multiple weeks with a finger injury. If Bernard makes the most of this opportunity, he'll challenge the notion that there aren't exciting waiver targets available.
Kendre Miller, RB, New Orleans Saints (8% Rostered)

When the waiver wire is really cooking, it offers up players who have impressed with both volume and efficiency. So far, though, Kendre Miller is only covering one side of that coin.
This is a volume-only recommendation, but at least the volume is encouraging. In two of four games, Miller has handled at least nine carries. He scored in both of those contests, too.
His passing work is nearly nonexistent, though, and his efficiency leaves a lot to be desired. His average touch is spanning just 3.0 yards. He isn't averaging even three yards per carry or four yards per catch.
That volume keeps coming, though, and it feels unlikely to change, especially with Alvin Kamara being limited by a back injury. This is also the least efficient Miller has ever been with his touches (career 4.3 yards per touch), so some positive regression could help make a lot more out of these volume opportunities.
Aaron Rodgers, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers (27% Rostered)

Remember that aforementioned turnaround with Pittsburgh's passing attack? Well, it has turned Aaron Rodgers into a fantasy star again.
Question the sustainability all you want, but here's the truth: Only two quarterbacks have tallied more fantasy points since Week 3 than Rodgers. On Sunday, he threw three touchdown passes for the third consecutive week while shattering his previous season-high with 71 percent passing.
"This might be the best Rodgers has looked since joining the Steelers," Adam Bittner noted for USA Today. "At his current pace, he'd throw 34 touchdowns this season. That would be his most since 2021, and only his third 30-touchdown season since 2017."
For a long while, it felt like Rodgers' days of fantasy relevance were behind him. And maybe it'll look like that again soon. For those needing a jolt at quarterback, though, it's hard not to react to an all-time great engineering a run this hot. The fact it could end at any moment doesn't mean it's actually destined to end any time soon.
