Aaron Donald Injury Update, Game Status Revealed by Rams' Sean McVay Ahead of MNF vs. Bills

The Los Angeles Rams will have one of their stars back on defense this week after he missed Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Per ESPN's Sarah Barshop, Rams head coach Sean McVay said that defensive tackle Aaron Donald will play against the Buffalo Bills on Monday despite missing practice on Saturday.

Donald missed the team's season opener in Melbourne as he ramped back up after coming out of retirement, but was on the field for Weeks 2 and 3.

Unfortunately for the Rams and Donald, he had to miss last week's game against the Eagles because of a back injury. McVay didn't offer too many details about Donald's injury, noting that he was "a little bit sore."

"Just taking it a day at a time," McVay told reporters last week. "I wouldn't want to say anything of that nature yet, but I think the back's a little bit sore. And he's as tough as it gets, and so I'll continue to have updates as the week goes."

In his first two games back after two years of retirement, Donald has logged four tackles and one tackle for loss. His production is down quite a bit from what fans are used to, but that is to be expected considering his somewhat limited snap count.

"I don't feel like my wind's off," Donald told reporters on Friday. "I don't feel like I be out there exhausted. I think the way we able to rotate helped me a lot, but I do feel good. Just got to keep going, try to be more productive, do what I need to do."

Even without Donald last week, the Rams improved to 2-2 with a 24-20 win over Philadelphia.

The team is still awaiting the return of star pass rusher Myles Garrett, who was placed on injured reserve after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery after Week 1. McVay told reporters Saturday that Garrett is not expected to practice next week.
