Justin Jefferson, Puka Nacua, NFL Injury Statuses and Fantasy Impact for Week 4

The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best fantasy football matchups on paper in Week 4.

However, the Vikings will have to try to beat the Miami Dolphins without their biggest fantasy football star. Justin Jefferson was ruled out with the sprained ankle he suffered last week.

The news is much better for the Los Angeles Rams, who are expected to get Puka Nacua back after a two-week absence.

Nacua's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles appears to be tough, but he's still expected to put up decent fantasy numbers on Sunday.

Below is a look at all of the significant injuries affecting fantasy football matchups in Week 4.

Justin Jefferson Ruled Out

Justin Jefferson was ruled out for Minnesota's Week 4 contest with Miami.

Jefferson's status is a blow to fantasy football players who hoped he would take advantage of the matchup.

Miami's allowed seven passing touchdowns through three weeks, which is tied for the fifth-most in the NFL. The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs put up over 240 passing yards in the last two weeks versus the Miami defense.

Jordan Addison is the most obvious player to receive a production bump in Jefferson's absence. He's worth a waiver-wire look if he's still available in your league.

If not, Jauan Jennings is worth an addition because of his expected increase in production from the WR2 spot. Jennings hasn't done anything of note yet this season, but if there was any week to trust him in a FLEX or WR2 spot in fantasy, it would be Week 4.

There could be waiver-wire value elsewhere, especially for the Indianapolis Colts-Washington Commanders game in London. Both teams rank in the top five in passing yards allowed.

Washington's Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams, as well as Indianapolis' Darius Slayton are worth riskier additions if you believe both defenses will continue to struggle against the pass.

Puka Nacua Expected to Return

Puka Nacua is off the injury report for the Rams' Week 4 trip to Philadelphia.

Nacua is going up against a Philadelphia defense that unexpectedly struggled on Monday night against Case Keenum and the Chicago Bears. The Eagles let up 247 passing yards and 27 points in the loss.

Nacua had some standout games against the Eagles in his career. He put up over 100 receiving yards in his last two regular-season meetings against the NFC East side. He also had 97 yards against the Eagles in the postseason.

The Rams star is always a must-start in fantasy football when healthy, but this could be an opportunity for him to put up big numbers in his return.

Davante Adams still exists within the Rams offense, but the two wide outs typically co-exist well alongside Matthew Stafford.

The rest of the Rams pass-catchers, who had value in Weeks 2 and 3 with Nacua out, carry diminished fantasy value with the star wide out back in the fold.
