Pedro Martinez Reflects on Red Sox's Historic Comeback vs. Yankees, 2004 World Series in B/R Video

Twenty-two years after the Boston Red Sox ended the Curse of the Bambino in the most dramatic way possible, one of the key figures involved in the series joined B/R to share new insights into how it happened.

Baseball Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez appeared on The Run to discuss Boston's 3-0 comeback against the New York Yankees in the ALCS and riding the wave of momentum into the World Series when the Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 2004 season saw the Red Sox end the 86-year curse that was believed to have stemmed from Babe Ruth being sold by Boston to the Yankees.

Martínez pitched in five games during that postseason, including three of the seven games against the Yankees. He also tossed seven shutout innings in Game 3 of the World Series against St. Louis.
