New Brian Thomas Jr. Trade Rumors on Jaguars' Asking Price, Potential Landing Spots

After a disappointing 2025 and a slow start so far in 2026, Brian Thomas Jr.'s future with the Jacksonville Jaguars is becoming a talking point around the NFL.

Per ESPN's Dan Graziano, opposing clubs are "curious" to see what the Jaguars do with Thomas as teams start figuring out their needs leading up to the trade deadline.

Graziano noted it will probably take a "strong offer" to get the Jaguars to move Thomas, but he's a potential candidate to become available in the coming weeks.

The Jaguars have been reluctant thus far to even really engage offers for Thomas. They reportedly turned down two "significant" trade proposals prior to the trade deadline last season.

There were strong reports about Thomas' performance and chemistry with Trevor Lawrence coming out of training camp, but that has not yet shown up in the regular season.

Thomas has just seven receptions for 88 yards with no touchdowns through three games (one start). He has played just 42.1 percent of the offensive snaps thus far, including under 40 percent in Weeks 1 and 3.

Parker Washington and Jakobi Meyers, both of whom have started all three games, are ahead of Thomas on the depth chart.

Since putting up 1,282 yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie in 2024, Thomas has 795 yards and two touchdowns in 17 games since the start of last season.

It could be argued the Jaguars would be better off exploring the market for Thomas right now. According to Graziano, he is still "perceived" as a No. 1 receiver based on talent but his strengths might not be a "great fit" with what Lawrence does well.

Graziano cited teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders among those that could have interest in Thomas if he becomes available.

Thomas is only 23 — he will turn 24 on Oct. 8 — and is under contract through the 2027 season. His fifth-year option for 2028 will have to be decided upon next spring.

The Jaguars are 15-5 since the start of the 2025 season, so they know their offense can succeed without Thomas playing at a high level.
