'F--k That!,' Kubiak's Message to Raiders Revealed & Maxx Crosby Talks 3-0 Start After Failed Trade

The Las Vegas Raiders are the NFL's most surprising team early this year after a 3-0 start.

While there's plenty of talent on the roster, most expected the Raiders to be a squad in the middle of a rebuild centered around quarterback Fernando Mendoza. First-year head coach Klint Kubiak had a message to his players regarding the rebuild after Sunday's win over the New Orleans Saints.

'F--k that!" Kubiak said, per Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.

If the Raiders had dropped their first three games, few would have been surprised, and few would have been disappointed. But star pass rusher Maxx Crosby said the team isn't just going to roll over because it's supposed to be a rebuilding year.

"I mean, this is football," Crosby told Breer. "You've got to show up and play the games. In the offseason, there's a lot of chatter and stuff like that. But for us, this group, we've been just focusing on the day-to-day. We play for each other. We've got real close connections in this locker room, and that's how you come back and make a second-half push like that on the road and get a big win. So, super excited about what we're building."

The Raiders' wins haven't come against the best of the best — that's no secret — but it would be unfair to discredit the start they've had. Las Vegas downed a struggling Miami Dolphins team before beating a Los Angeles Chargers team that was expected to be a playoff contender. Sunday's win came against a Saints team that took the Lions to overtime and upset the Ravens on the road.

Raiders fans shouldn't purchase Super Bowl tickets just yet, but it's fair to think they could exceed expectations and reach the playoffs. Next week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs will serve as an early litmus test.
