Broncos Beat Rams, Box Score Stats, Highlights for Stafford, Nix, Davante, Donald Top Players

Sunday nights never seem to disappoint.

It came down to the wire in Denver as the Broncos and Bo Nix pulled off a 30-26 comeback win over Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, fueled by an explosive 30-point second half.

Los Angeles marched into Empower Field at Mile High as a slim 2.5-point favorite, per FanDuel Sportsbook but sombered out to cheers of the opposing fans who never gave up after a scoreless first half from Denver.

In the process, Stafford had an up-and-down night, breaking some major NFL records in the loss.

The 38-year-old became the first player to throw for 20,000 yards with two different teams: the Rams and Detroit Lions. He finished his 12 seasons with the Lions with 45,109 passing yards.

On the flip side, Stafford also made history by throwing the most pick-sixes in NFL history, with 33 in total.

The first half was all Los Angeles in the Mile High City.

The Rams led 16-0 at the break behind a touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Higbee and three second-quarter field goals. 

L.A.'s defense came up big on the other end, forcing three first-half punts and benefiting from a missed Broncos field goal.

Just when it looked like things were going to go south for Denver, the Broncos came out of halftime looking like a different team, finding the end zone twice in the third quarter, converting both two-point attempts to catch up and knot the game at 16 heading into the final quarter.

Despite an early fourth-quarter interception by Nix, Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga picked off Stafford and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown, giving Denver its first lead of the game with 4:49 left to play.

Stafford immediately made up for his blunder with a 1:11 drive back down the field, throwing a 48-yard touchdown to Konata Mumpfield to quickly regain a three-point lead.

With one drive left for the Broncos, Nix and his offense stormed down the field, topping off an exciting comeback with Nix diving over the top for a touchdown to take a four point lead with 47 seconds left.

The Rams pushed their way down the field to Denver's 14-yard line with enough time to spike the ball and draw up one more play. Their near-miraculous game-winning touchdown attempt came up short, thanks to Hufanga, who came up with his second interception of the game.

Los Angeles will hit the road to face the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday, while the Broncos will head to San Francisco to face the 49ers that same day.
