Cowboys Reportedly 'Have Not Been Allowed to' Leave Hotel, Ravens 'Enjoying' Brazil Before Game

The San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams reportedly aren't the only team taking alternate approaches to travel ahead of an international matchup.

The Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens are giving their players differing limitations ahead of Sunday's matchup in Brazil, according to All City DLLS' Clarence Hill Jr.

The Ravens have been out and "enjoying the city" of Rio de Janeiro, while the Cowboys "have not been allowed to even leave the hotel, not to even venture to the beach," Hill reported.

Both the Ravens and Cowboys flew to Brazil Thursday night and landed Friday morning ahead of Sunday's kickoff at 4:25 p.m. ET.

Both teams will have time to adjust to a time change of one hour from Baltimore and two hours from Dallas.

That marks a difference from the Rams, who traveled to Australia for a season-opening game in Melbourne just 27 hours before kickoff in an attempt to keep players adjusted to Pacific Time.

The Rams ended up losing in a blowout to the 49ers, which landed a week prior to the matchup and allowed players to spend time around the city.

Safety Kyle Hamilton said before the trip he felt the game would be a test of "who's being more of a pro."

"I think our hotel is in a pretty cool place with a decent view. So, get close to the beach, probably not go out on it, but, you know, close enough," Hamilton said Wednesday.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson said the same day: "I'm excited, but at the end of the day, it's a business trip for us. It's not to go have fun, or sightsee, or anything like that."

The biggest concern for both teams ahead of the matchup might be the field conditions at Maracanã Stadium, which have been criticized by NFLPA executive director JC Tretter. The NFL has since worked to reinforce the turf, per the AP's Mauricio Savarese.

The Brazil game marks the latest contest in an expanded slate of international games that continues over the next three weeks with games in London followed by matchups later this season in Paris, Madrid, Munich and Mexico City.
